Chelsea and Manchester United are in the picture to sign Real Betis youngster Emmanuel N’Goran this summer.
The 19-year-old arrived at the La Liga side from Young African Promises FC in January 2025.
He was first part of Real Betis U19s and made his way to their reserve team in February.
The defender’s development and potential convinced Chelsea and Manchester United to keep a close watch.
This season, he played six matches for Real Betis U19 in the UEFA Youth League and 11 for their reserve team.
His stats from the UEFA Youth League are as follows:
Appearances: 6
Starts: 2
Total minutes: 180
Minutes per game: 30
Yellow card: 1
Red [2 yellows]: 1
Direct red: 1
Chelsea and Manchester United make approach
The Premier League duo have overlooked the number of cards he received and have included him in their scouting list.
That’s according to El Desmarque, who make it clear it’s their own information about the Blues and Michael Carrick’s side.
Both Chelsea and the Red Devils already sent their scouts on several occasions to take a closer look at Emmanuel N’Goran.
He would have convinced the two English clubs, who contacted his agent to find about his situation and inform that they will continue to monitor the defender.
The youngster is one of the most promising players at Real Betis reserve team and has a €30m release clause.
This would be affordable for the two English clubs and could battle it out for him in the next window. However, it’s not given that either of them is willing to meet this figure.
N’Goran isn’t the only defender on Chelsea and Manchester United’s radar. On May 10th, Sport Witness covered claims from Portugal of their interest in Sporting’s Maxi Araújo.
Two months ago, we relayed news of the west London club’s efforts to try and sign River Plate centre-back Lautaro Rivero.
Contract, value and agent info
In March, Emmanuel N’Goran signed a new contract with Manuel Pellegrini’s side until 2030.
His value, as pre Transfermarkt, is €50,000 and agency AS1 represent the young Ivorian.
