Arsenal forward Caitlin Foord is close to agreeing a new contract with the club, according to reports, as the Women’s Super League side continue to shape their squad for the future.
BBC Sport report that the 31-year-old Australia international is expected to extend her stay in north London, with discussions understood to be at an advanced stage following the departure of Beth Mead earlier this summer. The potential agreement would represent a significant boost for ARSENAL, who are keen to retain experienced attacking options amid a period of transition in their forward line.
Foord has been a key figure for Arsenal since joining from Sydney FC in January 2020, establishing herself as a versatile and consistent presence across the front line. Capable of operating on either flank or through the centre, she has been widely valued for her work rate, pressing ability and experience at the highest level of both domestic and international football.
The reported move to secure Foord’s future comes as Arsenal adjust to several changes in their attacking unit. Mead’s departure, confirmed earlier in the off-season, has already left a gap in the squad, while the club are also expected to manage further contract decisions involving senior players as they balance experience with long-term squad planning.
Foord previously signed a new deal with Arsenal in June 2023, underlining her importance to the team under successive managers.
