Liverpool are now advancing in talks to appoint a new manager as they look to finalise a replacement for Arne Slot.
Last week, Liverpool confirmed that Slot would be leaving the club following an internal review of the 2025-2026 season.
In reality, it was a disappointing campaign for the Merseyside club, especially after they won the Premier League the season before.
Liverpool managed to sneak into the Champions League places despite their concerning performances, but only because fifth position in the Premier League granted a place in Europe's elite club competition.
Work has gone on behind the scenes for Liverpool to appoint a new manager to replace him, and it appears they are closing in on getting their man.

Iraola, described as 'elite' by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp, is leaving the Cherries this summer after guiding them into the European places.
Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed that Liverpool have actually reached an agreement in principle to appoint Iraola, with talks advancing over the last 48 hours.
