Arsenal are aiming for a big summer transfer window to build on their success and establish themselves as the dominant force in the Premier League. After their UEFA Champions League final defeat, there are also hopes to take yet another step in that competition and finally lift the trophy for the first time in their history.
Mikel Arteta spoke after the final and expressed his appreciation that big decisions would need to be made. It was obvious that some reference was being made to recruitment.
“We start to make some very important decisions if we want to reach another level,” he said. “And we're going to have to show that ambition because we are more than capable of doing it, but it's going to demand to be very, very ambitious, very fast and very smart.”

The two primary candidates for summer moves are Morgan Rogers and Eli Junior Kroupi, football.london understands. The attacking end of the pitch is a priority for Arteta as he looks to level up the options he has, which sadly couldn’t find the net in the final beyond Kai Havertz.
How both Kroupi (believed to be worth at least £70million) and Rogers (believed to be worth at least £80million) would fit into the best Arsenal eleven for next season has created some debate. Some wonder how Rogers would fit into the team, given the number of attackers.
Whether he would be too similar to Eberechi Eze, for example. However, there is a possibility for Arteta to deploy an extremely attacking line-up to transform how the club is viewed.
The usual back six of David Raya, Jurrien Timber, William Saliba, Gabriel, Riccardo Calafiori and Declan Rice would hold the main structure. But the front five is where it gets exciting.
Should captain Martin Odegaard stay, he could pair with Eze in the middle of the pitch, as we saw against Burnley at home. Arteta said that this team played some of the best football he’d seen all season in the first half as Havertz scored the goal that would ultimately seal them the Premier League title.
But with Bukayo Saka on the right, Rogers would operate on the left-hand side with either Junior Kroupi or Havertz playing through the centre. It would create an incredibly fluid attack, which would encourage movement and interchanging of positions.
So much threat from range, too, and the opportunity to create goals from rebounds or knockdowns. Then you have the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Leandro Trossard, Max Dowman, Ethan Nwaneri and Noni Madueke all still as options from the bench, in addition to either Kroupi or Havertz, whichever did not start, as further firepower to call on.
Potential Arsenal XI: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Rice, Odegaard, Eze; Saka, Kroupi, Rogers
