Chelsea to make opening offer to sign£60M England International!

Chelsea are preparing an opening bid for West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen following the Hammers’ relegation from the Premier League, according to reports, with the England international emerging as one of the most sought-after players expected to leave the Championship-bound club this summer.

Bowen, 29, faces an uncertain future after West Ham’s 14-year stay in the English top flight ended last month despite a final-day victory over Leeds United. Relegation has intensified speculation surrounding several of the club’s leading players, with rival Premier League sides monitoring the situation closely.

Reports indicate CHELSEA have long admired Bowen and view him as a player capable of adding experience, leadership and versatility to a young squad. The winger can operate across the front line and has built a reputation as one of the Premier League’s most consistent attacking performers over recent seasons.

While Chelsea are said to be considering an opening offer, they are unlikely to have a clear run at the player. Liverpool, Manchester United and other top-flight clubs have also been linked with Bowen, whose performances have remained impressive despite West Ham’s difficult campaign.

West Ham are understood to value their captain at around £50 million, although industry sources believe negotiations could settle closer to the £40 million mark as the east London club confronts the financial realities of Championship football.

The club has previously warned of the severe economic consequences of relegation and may need to generate significant funds through player sales.

Bowen has become a modern West Ham icon since joining from Hull City in 2020, scoring the winning goal in the 2023 Europa Conference League final and later being appointed club captain. He remains under contract until 2030, giving West Ham some leverage in any negotiations.

Following relegation, Bowen issued a public apology to supporters, describing the outcome as painful and admitting the team had “not been good enough” during the campaign.

Neither CHELSEA nor West Ham have publicly commented on the latest transfer speculation.

However, with the summer transfer window approaching and pressure growing on West Ham to reshape their finances, Bowen’s future is expected to become one of the biggest stories of the off-season.
