It has been a busy day in the world of Liverpool FC, with one of the latest lines being that Yan Diomande is still to decide his future.

Yan Diomande still undecided on his future

Liverpool are known to be interested in signing Diomande, and they are trying to seal the deal for the Cote d’Ivoire winger before the World Cup, according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.

The journalist has offered an update on the saga, claiming that Diomande “has not given his commitment to either Paris Saint-Germain or Liverpool, despite reports.”

He again emphasised that the Reds “are doing everything they can to complete a deal before the World Cup,” but RB Leipzig “remain relaxed.”

Plettenberg also mentioned that Jurgen Klopp, Red Bull’s head of global soccer, is among those “convinced” that Diomande will sign a new contract.

Cote d’Ivoire’s World Cup campaign does not kick off until June 15, and the 19-year-old is valued at €100 million (£86.4m) after scoring 13 goals in his first season in Germany.

“Keegan was swamped by autograph hunters who raised their cards and paper in hope, guided to the coach by Gigi, himself as a human shield. Joe Fagan looked on concerned as the youngsters bustled their way towards Keegan.

“Laughing, joking, Emlyn Hughes playing cards, the normal ritual and ideal preparation for the most important match in Liverpool’s history.

“Nervous excitement was countered by friendly chat between the aisle and seated neighbours. On display, this was the calm, easy-going atmosphere, the Liverpool way, the ever-present notion that opponents had more ‘toffee to chew’ than they will ever have.”
