Arsenal enjoyed an outstanding 2025/26 season, as Mikel Arteta and his players ended the club’s 22-year wait for a Premier League title.
The Gunners won the league by seven points in the end, battling long and hard with Manchester City to secure the prestigious piece of silverware. Although their season ultimately ended in disappointment in Budapest, losing the Champions League final on penalties to Paris Saint-Germain, this was still a hugely successful and uplifting campaign for the North London club.
Over a million people flocked to N5 to celebrate the title triumph, showing their appreciation to the players as they paraded the trophy around the area next to the Emirates Stadium. Many of Arteta’s squad members have achieved legendary status due to their contributions to this historic season.
With that said, here are ReadArsenal’s awards for the 2025/26 season.
Player of the Season – Declan Rice
Many think David Raya merits the player of the season award due to his outstanding clean sheet record and clutch saves. Others believe either William Saliba or Gabriel Magalhaes would be a worthy winner.
However, Declan Rice was the linchpin in Arsenal’s midfield and ultimately deserves the award. The England international held everything together for the Gunners, dominating in a deeper role.
Not only was he one of the key pillars behind the North Londoners’ defensive solidity, but he was also instrumental in Arsenal’s build-up. When others flagged during the run-in, he stood up and delivered exceptional performance after exceptional performance. In reality, no one comes close to Rice.
Goal of the Season – Eberechi Eze vs Bayer Leverkusen
Arsenal scored some outstanding goals this season. Gabriel Martinelli’s audacious flick over Gianluigi Donnarumma was eye-catching, Leandro Trossard’s stunning effort against Sunderland was brilliant, while Noni Madueke’s screamer at Club Brugge stands out.
However, Eberechi Eze’s goal against Bayer Leverkusen was the pick of the bunch. Collecting a bouncing ball from Trossard, Eze spun quickly before beautifully smashing the ball beyond Mark Flekken as it was rising. Stunning.

Signing of the Season – Piero Hincapie
Arsenal made eight new signings last summer, so there’s significant competition for this specific award. Eze scored some important goals, Martin Zubimendi played an instrumental role in the first half of the season, and Viktor Gyokeres was the Gunners’ top scorer.
However, Piero Hincapie is the only one of the eight new signings who has a clearly defined role in the squad and has no question marks around him moving forward. He was one of just two of last summer’s signings to start the Champions League final – the other being Mosquera out of necessity.
This shows how far the Ecuadorian has come in the space of a few months. Now, he and Riccardo Calafiori look to be the perfect set of left-back options to move forward with, given their balance of attributes.
Most improved – Riccardo Calafiori
There aren’t many clear contenders for most improved, as the majority of the squad simply maintained their levels from last season. However, there is one player whose stock rose significantly this year.
At the end of last term, Calafiori was Arsenal’s second choice left-back behind Myles Lewis-Skelly, and many believed that to be the case heading into this campaign. The Italian quickly fought his way ahead of Lewis-Skelly in the pecking order, showcasing his value to Arteta’s team through his attacking instincts and inventive final third play.
Had he not sustained an injury in the lead-up to Christmas, he likely would’ve held this place all season. Regardless, he ends the campaign having played more than in the previous season and having contributed a lot more.
Young Player of the Season – Max Dowman
Who else? Max Dowman might’ve played under 500 minutes across all competitions this season, but his impact in these minutes was extraordinary for a player of his age.
In a season where Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri took steps back in terms of their prominence in the first team, Dowman made huge strides forward. Cristhian Mosquera is another potential candidate, but it’s hard to look past a 16-year-old academy graduate who broke numerous records and scored one of the most memorable goals of the campaign.
Moment of the Season – Martin Odegaard’s trophy lift
‘After 22 years of gloom, it’s about to go boom!’ will forever be etched in the memories of Arsenal supporters. This was the gloriously poetic line delivered by commentator Conor McNamara as Martin Odegaard lifted the Premier League trophy in front of 3,000 Gunners fans inside Selhurst Park.
While there were several outstanding moments throughout the campaign, nothing comes close to the split second in which Arsenal’s captain hoisted the silverware into the air. It is a symbolic moment which the Gunners faithful will never forget.
Match of the Season – Arsenal 3-1 Bayern Munich
There are a surprising lack of staple matches for Arsenal in such a historic season. While the second leg of the Atletico Madrid tie springs to mind, that game was a grind for Arteta’s team, and the second half certainly wasn’t pretty.
Both wins over Tottenham were special, although Spurs’ tepidness does somewhat diminish how fondly they can be remembered. All three wins over Chelsea were enjoyable for Arsenal fans, while the victory at the San Siro was sweet.
However, the best performance and match was probably November’s Champions League league phase match against Bayern Munich. The German side were being dubbed the best in Europe at that point in the season, and Arsenal ultimately blew them off the park in front of a joyous Emirates Stadium.
