Chelsea have reportedly intensified their pursuit of Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen as the Premier League club continues its search for a marquee centre-forward ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to Turkish outlet Sabah, Chelsea have renewed their interest in the Nigeria international and are actively exploring a deal for one of Europe’s most prolific goalscorers. The report claims CHELSEA view Osimhen as a priority target as they seek to strengthen their attacking options for the 2026-27 campaign.
Osimhen has enjoyed another outstanding season in Turkey, further enhancing his reputation as one of the continent’s elite strikers. Since arriving at Galatasaray, the striker has established himself as a central figure in the club’s domestic and European success, attracting attention from several of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Chelsea’s admiration for Osimhen is longstanding. The club previously explored opportunities to sign the former Napoli forward before his move to Istanbul, but negotiations failed to progress amid concerns over transfer costs and salary demands.
The latest reports suggest Chelsea are once again evaluating the financial framework of a potential deal, although any move is expected to be complicated. Following comments from Nigeria coach Eric Chelle that fuelled transfer rumours, the striker publicly stated that remarks regarding his future had been taken out of context and reiterated his respect for the Turkish champions.
CHELSEA, meanwhile, are expected to remain active in the market as they look to add proven goalscoring quality to their squad. While no formal agreement has been reported, Sabah’s claims are the latest indication that Osimhen remains firmly on the club’s shortlist.
