Iraola left Bournemouth after guiding the club to a record sixth-place finish and to a first-ever Europa League qualification, following three record-breaking seasons on the south coast.

The Athletic's David Ornstein reports that Iraola is set to sign a two-year deal with Liverpool, as he did while at Bournemouth.

Iraola wants Tommy Elphick and Shaun Cooper to follow him from the Cherries to Merseyside, but, as reported, it is understood that no formal contact has been made with Bournemouth about the pair, with both under contract.

Ornstein reports that Iraola also wants fitness coach Pablo de la Torre and senior analyst Tom Webber to come to Liverpool, too.

The former left the club with Iraola, so will be a more straightforward appointment than the other three.

Liverpool are planning to conclude the appointment of Iraola and present him as new boss before the end of the week.

It will be a reunion with sporting director Richard Hughes, who has been leading the negotiations for Liverpool, as he was the man who brought Iraola to Bournemouth three years ago.

Iraola will also coach Milos Kerkez once again, after the left-back joined the Reds from the Cherries last summer.
