MOBILE, Ala. ([WALA](https://www.fox10tv.com/)) - The Panini Senior Bowl is continuing its commitment to the future of football scouting with the return of its annual Scout School program in Mobile.
The educational initiative, taking place this week at the Senior Bowl offices, provides aspiring scouts, former players and football professionals with an inside look at the NFL scouting process.
Participants receive hands-on training and classroom instruction focused on player assessment, game preparation, roster construction and the standards used by NFL organizations. The program is designed to give attendees practical experience while helping prepare them for careers in scouting and football operations.
Through direct interaction with experienced NFL personnel, participants gain insight into how teams identify talent and build successful rosters.
Dallas Cowboys Assistant Director of College Scouting Chris Vaughn is among the instructors contributing to this year’s program.
“What a great way for the Senior Bowl to give back to the NFL and help these players transition into the next part of their professional careers,” Vaughn said. “I’m honored to help in their journey and hopefully give them a look into the personnel side of the NFL.”
Senior Bowl Executive Director Drew Fabianich said the program reflects the organization’s commitment to growing the game beyond what happens on the field.
“By creating opportunities for former NFL players and aspiring scouts to learn directly from industry professionals, we are helping build the next generation of talent evaluators while strengthening the football scouting pipeline connected to the Panini Senior Bowl,” Fabianich said.
For decades, the Senior Bowl has served as a gathering place for NFL coaches, executives and scouts during the pre-draft process. Scout School extends that mission by creating an educational pathway for those looking to break into the profession.
Organizers say the combination of education, access and hands-on learning continues to make Scout School an important resource for developing future leaders in football scouting and personnel evaluation.
The Panini Senior Bowl, hosted annually in Mobile, is recognized as the premier college football all-star game and the first major step in the NFL Draft process. The event has been played in Mobile for more than 77 years, making it the longest continually running all-star game in football.
