Social media nearly melted down over rumors involving New York Giants star wide receiver Malik Nabers, but fans can officially breathe a massive sigh of relief. Despite wild speculation circulating online that the young wideout had been arrested, the rumors have been completely debunked.
According to NFL insider Mike Garafolo, the incident was nothing more than a brief misunderstanding. Local police stopped Nabers in Paramus, New Jersey, after authorities received a report of a road rage incident involving a vehicle that looked similar to his. Officers conducted a search of Nabers' car and questioned the pass catcher. Ultimately, police found no weapons, issued no citations, made no arrests, and quickly sent the Giants star on his way.
The off-field non-story comes at a time when the Giants are already dealing with plenty of stress surrounding their dynamic playmaker. Nabers is currently grinding through a highly frustrating rehab process following a complex knee injury. He suffered a torn ACL and meniscus in Week 4 of last season against the Dallas Cowboys, a game where he caught four passes for 56 yards before going down.

The situation grew more complicated after Nabers underwent a second, unscheduled “clean-up” surgery this offseason to address scar tissue and knee stiffness. Giants head coach John Harbaugh noted that while Nabers is fighting hard, his availability for the 2026 Week 1 regular-season opener remains very much up in the air.
Losing Nabers for any stretch would be a massive blow to New York's offense. During his historic 2024 rookie campaign, he shattered franchise records by hauling in 127 receptions for 1,475 yards and nine touchdowns. The team has already scrambled to bolster its depth by signing veterans Odell Beckham Jr., JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Braxton Berrios.
Thankfully for Big Blue, they will not have to worry about any legal trouble for their WR1.
