The World Cup 2026 is almost here and we take a look at which Liverpool players will be heading to the USA, Mexico and Canada for the tournament

Liverpool endured a gruelling season as defending Premier League champions - yet they will still be well-represented at the World Cup 2026. The Reds scraped into the top five, ending the 2025/26 campaign on just 60 points.
Had the Premier League not been granted an additional Champions League place thanks to its strong UEFA coefficient ranking, an already frustrating season would have been even more damaging for the club.
It was a thoroughly inconsistent campaign for Liverpool, despite an unprecedented level of transfer spending last summer. That resulted in manager Arne Slot ultimately being dismissed by the Anfield hierarchy last Saturday.
Liverpool have since agreed a deal in principle to appoint Andoni Iraola as the Dutchman’s successor, while planning transfers for the incoming manager. In the meantime, several of their players will be heading to the USA, Mexico and Canada to represent their nations at this summer’s World Cup.
