In what was a shocking turn of events on Monday, the Cleveland Browns decided to move on from star edge rusher Myles Garrett. Trading Garrett obviously wasn't something that seemed planned, but the Los Angeles Rams decided to add Jared Verse in the move, and as a result, the Browns traded the greatest player in franchise history.
Garrett had a lot to say during his time with the organization over the past few years. Obviously, he's been with the Browns his entire career, but he became a lot more outspoken over the past few years.
Still, there seems to be a lot of love for his time with the organization, or at least with the fan base. While saying goodbye, it showed why he should go down as the greatest Browns player ever.
“It’s hard to put into words what that really means when so much of your life has been shaped in one place, around one team, and with one community behind you,” Garrett said in the post on X “From my very first play you embraced me, and I wanted to help bring winning back to a city whose loyalty, resilience, and belief never wavered.
“What I didn’t fully understand then was how much this city would shape me.”
The Browns might not have found much success during Garrett's time there, and they've had more success with other greats in the past, but the numbers don't lie, and all fans seemed to love him.
It's unfortunate that things have gone the way they have over the past few years, and he'll be missed, but this is sadly part of the business in the NFL, and it's something that won't ever change.
After a blockbuster move sent Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams, teams in the NFC West have to start feeling very worried about the squad Los Angeles is building.
