Liverpool happy to pay€20m package to win transfer battle–Already planning next moves

Liverpool are already exploring the loan market as they look to wrap up a deal for Hertha Berlin youngster Kennet Eichhorn.

Sport BILD report that Liverpool are already looking at where they can send the 16-year-old this summer.

Liverpool plan ahead

The newspaper explains today that Borussia Dortmund have decided to walk away from the battle for the highly rated youngster. They have fears over the costs involved.

Kennet Eichhorn is available for €10m this summer but Dortmund have learned that another €10m will be going to his agents and the player as part of the deal.

That’s seen as a fair market sum given, he’s valued at €20m but Dortmund don’t want to pay it for Hertha BSC’s ‘midfield jewel’. They won’t pay that package. They have instead made it clear that their offer is one that’s best for his development rather than his pockets.

Liverpool, though, are different. They consider the cost as a ‘minor side note’ in the matter. In fact, they appear happy to pay it. And, according to Sport BILD, they are already ‘intensively exploring the market’ for a loan club for Eichhorn this summer.

Liverpool loan idea

Since he is still a minor, he is not allowed to move to a non-EU country before he turns 18. So, it seems the Reds intend to loan him out for a few years first. That will allow them to manage his development from afar.

There is no mention of what leagues or clubs they have looked at so far. But the fact that they are already looking hints that they’re confident of getting the deal for Eichhorn done this summer. Hertha have previously shown interest in having the midfielder back.

The Reds face big competition for his signature. All of Europe’s big clubs are keen thanks to his asking price. A €20m package is still seen as a bargain by some.

It seems a price Liverpool are happy to pay either way, with plans already underway for when the deal is done.
