New York Giants‘ star wide receiver Malik Nabers had a run in with at least seven squad cars in the surrounding area. As a result of a torn ACL and a torn meniscus in his right knee, Nabers’ 2025 season was prematurely ended after only four games. Initially, he underwent surgery to repair the damage, followed by a “cleanup” procedure to remove excessive scar tissue that caused stiffness.
Nabers expects to be 100% healthy this season (even if he misses the start of the year) and wants to contribute in John Harbaugh’s new offense. However, it would seem the young star had an unfortunate run in with law enforcement on Tuesday.
Here are the details.

New York Giants Wide Receiver Malik Nabers Has Run In With Police
On Tuesday evening multiple reports started surfacing (including from verified Giants beat writers) that Malik Nabers was stopped by police. Per ESPN/NFL Nation reporter Jordan Raanan:
Malik Nabers was NOT arrested despite being stopped by police on Tuesday. My understanding through sources is that an individual was reported to have brandished a gun in a similar car.
It was determined to be a case of mistaken identity and Nabers was allowed to leave.
Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo:
Regarding#Giants WR Malik Nabers and what’s circulating on social media, multiple sources say he was stopped in Paramus by police after a report of road rage by someone driving a similar vehicle.
They searched Nabers’ car and spoke to him. No weapon, no arrest, no citation and he was sent on his way.

While this scared fans initially, it was quickly proven that Malik Nabers was doing nothing wrong and was sent on his way. Still, seeing your star NFL wide receiver confronted by seven (at least) police officers was an unusual sight. Here are some fan reactions:
He literally drove away . Alot of us saw it happen.
Super Bowl back on (after the realized he drove away)
My WR1 is a law abiding citizen
Can’t even be excited about odell for one day without something, but thankfully it’s nothing. Only this team
Similar vehicle? How many people are driving wrapped Tesla Cybertrucks in Paramus? I’d double check your source
