Player left hoping Liverpool, Chelsea or Aston Villa make bid–Newcastle interest came to nothing

SC Freiburg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu has been left hoping Chelsea, Liverpool or Aston Villa make a bid for him after interest from Newcastle United came to nothing.

Sport BILD report on the 24-year-old today and how he’s currently been left in limbo, hoping a club make a bid for him.

Newcastle interest disappears

The newspaper explains that Noah Atubolu had a plan this summer to take the next step in his career. After three years at Freiburg, he wants a move to a bigger club. The Premier League would be his ideal destination.

But that is yet to happen. According to SportBILD’s information, Atubolu has not received a single concrete offer. No interested party has approached the Europa League finalists either.

A move to Newcastle United has apparently fallen through. The switch to St James Park was considered a possible option at one point. But concrete talks or even an offer never materialised. According to SportBILD’s information, there is currently no interest.

Aston Villa, Chelsea or Liverpool

Atubolu is now dependent on the international goalkeeper market. Changes could be on the cards at Liverpool, Chelsea and Aston Villa. So far, though, the Freiburg goalkeeper is not among the top options for these clubs.

He would be open to a ‘Premier League underdog’ but it would have to be financially attractive to him. So far, there’s no interest there either.

It’s left him in an awkward position as Freiburg have already signed his replacement in Mio Backhaus. He was, interestingly, also a potential target for Newcastle United.

His arrival leaves Noah Atubolu on the outside looking in. His sporting prospects at Freiburg are not great at this moment in time. They were left unimpressed by his attitude during attempts to renew his contract this year.

Now he’s waiting and hoping that Aston Villa, Chelsea, Liverpool or someone else makes a move for him after Newcastle’s interest dwindled away.
