**Liverpool have won the battle to keep hold of academy star Josh Abe.**
Premier League rivals Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United were all tracking the teenager winger following a breakthrough season at under-18 level.
Abe made his debut for Simon Wiles’ side and scored eight times in 10 Premier League North appearances before suffering a season-ending knee injury.
The England under-16 international also became the youngest player to feature for the Reds in the UEFA Youth League after a coming on in February’s Round of 32.
But despite receiving lucrative offers elsewhere, Warrington-born Abe has now committed his future to the club which has nutured his talent since the age of four.
Although the 15-year-old will sign his first professional contract upon turning 17 in July 2027, he is tipped to be involved in the Anfield club’s pre-season campaign.
Due to World Cup involvement, a number of academy talents are expected to be utilised in the first team’s tour of North America which begins at the end of July.
