Morgan Rogers has emerged as a top summer priority for Chelsea and it seems as if things could heat up once the World Cup is over.
Morgan Rogers racked up an impressive ten goals and six assists in the league, while playing a defining role in Aston Villa’s Europa League glory.
It then led to a call-up from Thomas Tuchel, who snubbed Cole Palmer from his England squad for the 2026 World Cup, much to the dismay of many Chelsea supporters.
His rise has only intensified Chelsea’s long-standing interest, with Stamford Bridge chiefs eager to reunite Rogers with his close childhood friend Cole Palmer. And that’s one factor that could play into Chelsea securing the unlikely transfer of Rogers after failing to land European football.

Aston Villa expect an approach from Chelsea
The Athletic are reporting that Chelsea have long had an interest in Rogers, and sources close to Villa expect them to push again this summer.
Rogers suits what Chelsea are looking for in the market for a variety of reasons.
The one positive for Chelsea is the fact that Rogers is supposedly not bothered by the Blues missing out on Champions League football, so the door is still open.

The World Cup worry for Chelsea and Morgan Rogers
A breakout performance for England at the upcoming World Cup would elevate Morgan Rogers’ already soaring market value.
Heading into the tournament on the back of Europa League glory with Aston Villa, the 23-year-old playmaker has caught the attention of European heavyweights like Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, who are both in superior financial positions when it comes to transfers.
A stellar tournament under Thomas Tuchel would inevitably drive his price tag well beyond the £80 million mark, creating an immense bidding war.
For Chelsea, it’s a matter of trying to move quickly for Rogers.
