Chelsea are reportedly in the market for a new goalkeeper ahead of the upcoming season, and have seen a big-money bid rejected for one of their targets.
The Blues are expecting big changes in that position this summer after Filip Jorgensen has asked to leave the club following a run where limited opportunities have been made available to him.
Robert Sanchez certainly enjoyed an improved campaign between the sticks in 2025/26, however there are fears about how he will fit in with Xabi Alonso’s style of play.
Who would you sign to replace Marc Cucurella? 🫵
Andrea Cambiaso is the latest player to be linked.
The incoming manager likes to play out from the back, a side of the game that Sanchez has shown he has his limitations with.
This has seen reports start to surface regarding Chelsea’s pursuit of a new goalkeeper, and now Roma shot-stopper Mile Svilar has been linked.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Blues have already had a bid in the region of £43m rejected by the Serie A side for his services, with them having no intention to let him go.
The report goes on to say though that Roma are in need of a cash injection before the end of June in order to stay in line with UEFA’s financial rules.
Chelsea are well aware of how devastating UEFA’s sanctions can be, with them left in a position where they are tipped to need a big sale to stay on the right side this summer.

Who is Mile Svilar?
The 26-year-old goalkeeper played every single Serie A game for Roma during the 2025/26 season, keeping 18 clean sheets.
He only conceded 31 goals, making 107 saves, making a higher percentage than any other goalkeeper in Italy’s top tier throughout the campaign.
He has also proven to be decent with his feet too, completing a large amount of short and long passes throughout the season.
Chelsea may well be waiting in the wings to see how Roma’s financial situation plays out, and whether they can pull off a deal later this month.
