Championship duo vie for German talent

Championship new-boys Cardiff City are reportedly set to battle play-off finishers Millwall for midfielder Rocco Shein.
That’s according to German news outlet, Fussball Transfers, who have claimed the Fredrikstad talent is on the radar of Pompey’s second-tier rivals.
The report from the continent suggests both Millwall and Cardiff have registered an interest in the 22-year-old, along with Bundesliga outfit Schalke.
The German second-tier club are believed to be valuing Shein between £2.5m and £4.2m as his stock continues to rise in Norway’s top-flight.
The 24-cap Estonia international has tallied three goal contributions in 11 Eliteserien outings this term and still has more than two years to run on his current terms at the Fredrikstad Stadion.
Pompey, of course, completed the double over Millwall last season, while a first trip to the Cardiff City Stadium since October 2024 awaits John Mousinho’s troops after Cardiff secured an instant Championship return.
