Joao Pedro gives his honest opinion on Chelsea’s new 2026-2027 home kit

The new 2026-2027 Chelsea home kit has caused plenty of controversy among Chelsea fans, but Joao Pedro is actually a big fan.

Chelsea’s 2026-2027 home kit marks a bold return to tradition, moving away from the abstract patterns of recent years to deliver a sleek look.

Nike has crafted a design that utilises a classic, deep royal blue base, contrasted by striking white and gold accents on the collar and sleeve cuffs. This refined color palette pays direct homage to the club’s iconic early-2000s era, in an attempt to blend retro nostalgia with a modern look.

The shirt also features the latest lightweight knit technology, designed for optimal breathability on the pitch.

However, early feedback from supporters has been quite disappointing, with some claiming that Nike makes minor changes every year rather than a big difference.

Joao Pedro appreciates the new Chelsea kit

Joao Pedro is of a different opinion, when speaking to Chelsea’s official website, he reckons the new kit is more of a classic look mixed with modern day.

“I think it looks more classic, more stylish with the collar. Like more old school, but also doesn’t lose the modern look. I like it a lot.”

Amid all the links involving Joao Pedro and a move to Spain, it’s a positive to see that he appreciates what he’ll hopefully be wearing next season.

Pedro is the one player that Chelsea are adamant not to lose this summer, with players like Enzo Fernandez and Marc Cucurella not on the untouchables list.
