LAKE FOREST, Ill., — For the first time, the Chicago Bears will have a player on the main cover of the popular Madden franchise. On Wednesday morning, EA Sports officially revealed that Caleb Williams will be on the cover for the upcoming Madden 27 game set to be released in August.
After a tease over the weekend, it became official on Wednesday as Williams will grace the cover for both the standard and deluxe editions of the game. The two covers featured Williams doing a "jumpman" throw to pay homage to an iconic photo of Michael Jordan as well as his "iceman" celebration, both moments happening against rival Green Bay:

It took Williams just two years to be named the cover athlete of the popular video game franchise and is the first quarterback to get a cover since Josh Allen on Madden 24. In addition to the cover, Williams' rating was also revealed during his appearance on the "New Heights" podcast with Travis and Jason Kelce. The hosts revealed that Williams' overall will be a 90 in the game.
However, the quarterback expects it to get to 99 before the season ends. He revealed that it was a childhood dream of his to be on the cover one day.
"When I received the call from Madden, it was like my childhood dream was coming true," Williams said. "Being on the cover of 'Madden NFL 27' is a full-circle moment.
"I grew up playing Madden and imagining what it would be like to be part of the game. I know fans are going to love what's new in this year's game, and I'm looking forward to getting my rating up to a 99 by the end of the season."
Madden 27 is set to release on August 13th and a full reveal of the game will happen on June 4th.
