However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Tuesday, “Falcons are signing WR Drake London to a four-year, $141 million extension worth up to $150 million, including $100 million guaranteed, per his agent Andrew Kessler. It makes London the third highest paid receiver in the league with the highest average per year in Falcons franchise history.” This is a major signing for Atlanta. The Falcons will need to give running back Bijan Robinson and tight end Kyle Pitts a contract extension at some point.

Last season with the Falcons, London caught 68 passes for 919 yards receiving and seven touchdowns, along with averaging 13.5 yards per carry. He also was targeted 112 times. London didn’t reach over 1,000 yards last season. There are a lot of NFL fans who are stunned about Atlanta giving London this massive contract extension. This is what some of them had to say about it on Twitter:
Falcons are betting big that his best years are still ahead.

Yikes that’s a lot of money. He’s a good player don’t get me wrong but not a true do it all WR1 imo.

Very interesting considering that QB is a major question mark

Michael Penix Jr. or Tua Tagovailoa will be the starting quarterback for the Falcons this season under head coach Kevin Stefanski. Signing London to a long-term deal with smart for this franchise. A lot of people feel like Atlanta overpaid, but he has been their number one wide receiver over the last several seasons here.
