A lot of talk about Chelsea midfielders at the moment revolves around Enzo Fernandez, although the Blues are actually looking at the bigger picture with Moises Caicedo.
The South American duo have formed one of the best midfield partnerships in world football, however it is expected that will be broken up during this summer transfer window.
Fernandez is wanted by Real Madrid, and wants an answer on what his club future holds before the World Cup gets underway.

Chelsea want a new midfielder that allows Moises Caicedo to play further forward
Caicedo will also be in action at the World Cup, representing dark horses Ecuador, and his importance to his nation is arguably even higher than it is at Chelsea.
However, it looks as if the Blues are preparing to strengthen their midfield in order to get more out of the former Brighton man from an attacking perspective.

According to Striver, Chelsea are planning a midfield signing that will allow Caicedo the licence to influence play more in the attacking areas, rather than just being a holding midfielder.
Caicedo scored three Premier League goals last season, tripling his output from the prior campaign. He also created 18 chances last season, just six less than Cole Palmer.

Possible Chelsea midfield signings
Chelsea will be holding out for a decent fee for Fernandez, although that will need to be reinvested in order to replace the impact he has had on their side.
The Blues have been strongly linked with signing Adam Wharton and Elliot Anderson, although the duo have plenty of Premier League interest in their services.
Chelsea will need more than just Valentin Barco, who is expected to join them from Strasbourg this summer.
They will need to replace Fernandez’s goals, but may feel as if they have a better chance of doing so across a spread of players, including Caicedo.
