Over the last 20 seasons, the Philadelphia Eagles have won two Super Bowl titles and many NFC East divisional titles as well. Philadelphia has had one of the most talented offensive line units in the NFL. Jason Kelce as one of the top centers in the league and Lane Johnson has been one of the best right tackles. The Eagles have also had two very talented left tackles as well. Jordan Mailata has been the Eagles starting left tackle since the 2021 NFL season. Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson (97) pressures Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Jordan Mailata (68) during the first half at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Sunday, November 16, 2025.

Peters was the starting left tackle for the Eagles in the first Super Bowl victory and Mailata was the starting left tackle for Philadelphia during the second Super Bowl victory. There is some debate about who has been the better left tackle for this franchise over the last 20 years.

Philadelphia’s Jason Kelce (62) and Jason Peters (71) hang their heads as they head toward the locker room tunnel after losing to the Seattle Seahawks 17-9 in 2020 at Lincoln Financial Field.

Profootballfocus.com writer Nathan Jahnke created a roster of the Eagles best offensive players and defensive players over the last 20 years. There is no question that Philadelphia has one of the best offensive line units over that time period. A lot of people believe that Peters was an elite left tackle, but Jahnke thinks that Mailata is the better left tackle than him. He said,

“The most difficult decision came at left tackle, where Jordan Mailata and Jason Peters both rank among the top five left tackles with a single franchise in this methodology. While Peters has the edge in longevity, Mailata’s peak from 2021-24 is among the best we have seen from a tackle.”

Peters made the Pro Bowl seven times when he was with the Eagles. Injuries are what ended his career with Philadelphia. Mailata has had a great start to his career no doubt with the Eagles but will see if he can have the longevity like Peters did.
