According to a report from TeamTalk, Liverpool are now stepping up their search for a new central defender after it was confirmed that Konate would be heading through the exit door.
The report claims that Club Brugge star Joel Ordonez is firmly back on the club's radar ahead of the summer transfer window.
Ordonez is now being seriously considered by the Merseyside club, although almost every major Premier League club has been keeping an eye on his situation.
Club Brugge would be willing to sanction a sale for Ordonez, described as 'phenomenal', in the summer transfer window for a fee in the region of £40 million. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool would be willing to pay that.
