Officially on the cover of Madden 27, Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams enters his third NFL season as one of the most hyped quarterbacks in recent memory. After a solid sophomore season that included leading the franchise to its first playoff win in 15 years and two wins over the rival Green Bay Packers, Williams enters his third season looking to take another step forward.

As the 2026 season comes into focus, one area where Williams will need to take a big step forward is in the Bears passing game. The belief is that with another year in Ben Johnson's offense, Williams should be able to finally develop into the franchise quarterback that the Bears have spent more than a century looking for.

On the latest episode of The Halas Beat, hosts Usayd Koshul and Steve Letizia discuss what Williams has to accomplish this offseason, veterans on the Bears offense that have something to prove, and what the expectations for the new safety duo of Dillon Thieneman and Coby Bryant are.
