The Cleveland Browns traded away the face of their franchise in a shocking move with the Los Angeles Rams, exchanging the services of pass rusher Myles Garrett for those of Jared Verse, along with some future draft capital.
Verse spoke to the Cleveland-area media members on Wednesday and was honest about his initial feelings on being traded.
“I love the coaches, the organization, my teammates, you know, everybody a part of it, the staff, the fans, you know,” Verse said. “I love the whole vibe of LA, Los Angeles Rams, you know. And it, uh, it was upsetting. I was upset for, you know, a good little bit of time.
“But you’re an athlete, you understand the nature of business. People, everybody does what they think is best for their business. And, you know, that’s the situation I’m in. I’m happy to be a part of the Browns, you know.

“I’m happy that they believed in me and they were able to make that trade and bring me here, you know, be with my teammates, be with everybody here. I truly do believe in everybody in the locker room. But it was a I was upset in that place, but you know, two choices: you can either work, you can give up. I’m never gonna quit.”
The Browns figure to be in the early stages of a rebuild, and if Verse can contribute to the team being competitive sooner rather than later, he may end up loving Cleveland’s “vibe” even more than LA’s.
