He's really a terror in both phases, both as a run defender and a pass rusher. And we are really, really excited to add him to our team. He allows us to continue to play defense at a high level."

Verse, 25, was the No. 19 pick of the Rams in 2024 out of Florida State. In 34 games, he has 12 sacks, 124 tackles, 22 for loss, 45 quarterback hits, five forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and three passes defensed. Last season, he had 7.5 sacks, 58 tackles, 11 for loss, 27 quarterback hits, three forced fumbles and became the fourth-fastest player to reach 150 pressures, doing so in 33 games. He joined Brian Urlacher, Shawne Merriman, Patrick Willis, Von Miller, Aaron Donald, Marcus Peters, Micah Parsons and Sauce Gardner
as the only players to win Defensive Rookie of the Year and make the Pro Bowl in their first two seasons, according to Elias.

"They're live out there," he said. "They're moving fast. Everybody, specifically the defense, obviously that's what I'm focusing on. The D-line is moving really well. The DB's are locked in on everything. The linebackers are making their calls very quickly. That's giving us time to set. It was alive out there, and I feel very confident in us."
