The Dallas Cowboys are going into the 2026 season doing whatever it takes to turn around their franchise. After the team moved on from head coach Mike McCarthy, Dallas has endured back to back seven win seasons. The Cowboys would miss the playoffs in both years which left fans demanding more. After all, Dallas has one of the highest paid offenses in the NFL.

On Wednesday, the Cowboys added a young wide receiver to that offense.

Cowboys Shockingly Sign Young Wide Receiver

According to multiple reports the Cowboys have officially signed 24-year-old wide receiver Jaden Smith. Smith came into the league in 2025 as an un-drafted free agent out of Nevada. Unfortunately, prior to the 25′ season he would suffer an undisclosed injury and remained sidelined for the entire season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed him after the draft before waiving him with an injury designation. While he has yet to appear in an NFL game, he made headlines while in college.

During his final season, Jaden Smith transferred to the Nevada Wolf Pack, where he started as a wide receiver.During the 2024 college football season, he led Nevada’s receiving corps with 62 receptions for 849 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging 13.7 yards per catch.

In the last four games of the season, Smith emerged as the Wolf Pack’s top offensive weapon and primary red-zone target, catching touchdowns in four consecutive games. In a stand out performance he had nine catches for 92 yards and a touchdown against UNLV.

Previously, Smith played at Montana State and Tarleton University, where he earned Second Team All-WAC honors in 2022.
