New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani playfully invites Victor Wembanyama to a government hearing, which will coincide with Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the Spurs and Knicks.
As the 2026 NBA Finals are now looming, Victor Wembanyama has received a surprising yet playful invite from the mayor of New York City.
New York Knicks / Schedule
On X (formerly Twitter), Mayor Zohran Mamdani dropped a post and invited the French superstar to attend his Commission on Government Efficiency Hearing from 5 to 8 p.m. ET on June 10.
As such, the time and date Mamdani proposed would coincide with Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks, with many fans viewing the invitation as a lighthearted attempt to help his hometown team gain an edge in the series.
Hilariously, some didn't notice the mayor's playful intent and even encouraged Wembanyama to attend.
Mamdani's X post already went viral ahead of Wednesday's Game 1 in San Antonio.
Mamdani has been fully supportive of the Knicks' playoff run all the way to the franchise's first NBA Finals berth since 1999. He is planning to attend Game 3 of the title series on Monday once the series shifts to New York.
