San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle and his wife, Claire, have shared an update regarding their life as a married couple on Friday’s episode of the “Wife’d Up, Mic’d Up” vlog by Claire.
During the episode, Claire revealed that they opted for the IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) process and believe that it’s the best way to go in their attempt to start a family.
“I really just want to do this because the goal is to make embryos. He and I, just to have those as a backup plan and for peace of mind,” Claire said. “I think it will reduce my anxiety and my stress around getting pregnant.”
Claire also mentioned she traveled to California with George when he reported for the 49ers’ OTAs on May 27. After that, they went to Beverly Hills for an IVF consultation. She also showed her commitment to the process by having an ultrasound with a follicle evaluation before starting her fertility medications.

In her vlog as well, Claire opened up about their first loss of pregnancy.
“We’ve had one pregnancy that resulted in an ectopic. We did a lot of genetic testing and everything. So if it is meant to happen, it is going to happen,” she said.
George’s love affair with Claire began back when they were in college at the University of Iowa in 2012. Back then, George was part of the Hawkeyes’ football team, while Claire was with the basketball squad.
George then mustered the courage to propose to Claire in 2018 and got married on April 10, 2019, after they eloped.

Before George Kittle and Claire explored other options for starting their family, the former Iowa Hawkeyes forward shared on a post back in 2023 that they had quite an experience going through their first pregnancy.

“On Christmas morning, George and I took a pregnancy test while the rest of our family waited to open presents downstairs. We were about to see the greatest gift, a positive test,” she wrote.
However, they’d later find out that her pregnancy wasn’t normal and could put Claire’s life at risk.
“The nurse giving my ultra sound went silent for awhile and I asked ‘I’m still early there’s probably nothing to see yet right?’ She responded with ‘I see a pregnancy here it’s just not in the correct place, it’s ectopic,'” Claire wrote. “I felt my soul leave my body as I knew exactly what that meant.”

Despite all the struggles they experienced in their first pregnancy, George remained by her side and stayed committed to building a family with her, even through other methods.
