Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs are entering this series as the favorites, given that they took down the defending NBA Champion Oklahoma City Thunder in impressive fashion. In addition to Wembanyama, the Spurs have gotten strong play from Stephon Castle, Dylan Harper, De'Aaron Fox, and Julian Champagnie during this playoff run.
The Knicks, on the other hand, have had quite the playoff run themselves. They've swept each of their last two opponents in the Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers while winning the final three games against the Atlanta Hawks.
New York enters Wednesday having not lost a game in 41 days while the Spurs come of beating the defending champions. Each one has a good case here in these Finals to be considered the favorite.
Game 2 will be back in San Antonio on Friday, June 3rd. We'll see who takes a 1-0 lead into that game.
