Insider Teases Stefon Diggs Could Sign With Patriots On Thursday

Even with the addition of A.J. Brown, the New England Patriots are still operating with more than $40 million in cap space in 2026.

As such, it is not ridiculous to assume that the team will bring in at least one more big free agent before the season starts in an attempt to bolster their Super Bowl-contending roster as much as possible.

While there are many players who fit the description, former New England Patriots quarterback Scott Zolak seems to have some inside information linking New England to Diggs.

The full clip is 90 seconds long. In it, Zolak's co-hosts on 98.5 The Sports Hub's "Zolak & Bertrand" were trying to guess who Zolak, who has extensive ties inside the Patriots' building, could have been receiving information from.

Zolak didn't tell the viewers, but he did make multiple mentions of a "big splash" with a "familiar" name.

"We may have to chest bump for that one again," Zolak told Marc Bertrand.

"Yes, yes, yes, it would be a huge splash. People would go nuts for it," Bertrand added. "I know people would be excited for it."

The duo then teased the position group they may be discussing.

"What did you say earlier, they lack depth?" Bertrand said. "I'll tell you what, it would solve that problem."

Tim McKone then asked if they were "talking about someone who is familiar with the area." To which the duo responded with a resounding yes.

"Don't throw the jerseys away just yet," Bertrand said.

When discussing depth in the NFL, there are really only two position groups that come to mind: wide receiver and edge rusher.

The don't throw the jerseys away just yet comment strongly suggests that they are discussing the recently released wide receiver.
