New York had not been to the NBA Finals since 1999 and had not won the title since 1973. Clearly, the city is desperate for a breakthrough.
The Knicks, who entered the NBA Finals with an 11-game winning streak, have a strong chance to bring the Larry O'Brien Trophy to the Big Apple, with Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby, Josh Hart, and Mikal Bridges carrying the fight.
As of writing, the Knicks are leading the Spurs in the fourth quarter. Brunson has 28 points and three rebounds, while Town has 18 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists.
