The New York Knicks have taken a 1-0 lead in the NBA finals after beating San Antonio 105-95 in the series opener.

The Knicks stole a game on the Spurs' home floor, which was briefly interrupted by a fan sprinting onto the court at a crucial point in the fourth quarter.

After Jalen Brunson hit a lay-up to put New York six points up with six minutes and 34 seconds left in the fourth quarter, someone ran from the stands to take a selfie alongside Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama.

Security quickly converged and dragged him away as he tried to reveal a message scrawled on his T-shirt.

The Knicks had just broken up a Spurs pass and, with possession up in the air, there was a jump ball.

The Spurs then went on a 9-2 run to retake the lead with two minutes left, before Brunson hit a clutch three-pointer to kick off a 10-0 run by the Knicks to close out the game.
