Victor Wembanyama has the responsibility of leading the San Antonio Spurs to the promised land. They're just four wins away from winning yet another title as a franchise, and Wembanyama, on many occasions in this year's playoffs, has proven himself to be more than capable of rising to the occasion. Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the New York Knicks, however, hasn't been the easiest for Wembanyama.
Wembanyama has been struggling from the field for the entirety of their Wednesday night contest against the Knicks, as he hasn't quite been able to get to his spots in a matchup against Karl-Anthony Towns and Mitchell Robinson. But in the third quarter, the Spurs star found a sliver of daylight and threw down a jaw-dropping left-handed dunk at full extension to get perhaps his easiest bucket of the night.

This has become the signature move of Wembanyama, as he's using his length advantage to get his way over opponents, even the most talented ones. Wembanyama's size and length combined with his skill has always separated him from the pack, and the Spurs are benefitting as a result.
However, in the next few games of the series, the Spurs may want to do a more concerted job of getting Wembanyama closer to the basket the way he was on this emphatic dunk. They tried to get Wembanyama to take on Towns on the perimeter off the dribble way too often on the night, and it did not work — with the Spurs star making just six of his 21 field-goal attempts in Game 1.
Game 1 is looking like a lost cause for the Spurs now, as their offense sputtered when it mattered the most while Jalen Brunson rose to the occasion as he usually does. And now, San Antonio has to go back to the drawing board to avoid relinquishing home court advantage even further.
