The New York Knicks' loud fanbase has to be over the moon after their team came back from a double-digit deficit in Game 1 of the NBA Finals to take a 105-95 win over the San Antonio Spurs on the road. They extended their winning streak to 12 games, and their fanbase, understandably so, is jumping for joy. Their collective excitement can never be kept hidden, and this has led to some very epic chants — including a “We Want Wemby” chant after just Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.
Knicks fans must feel as though they're willing an NBA championship into existence with their cheers, and so far, whatever they're doing is working anyhow. Why not tempt fate once more? After the Knicks' Game 1 victory on the road, fans who joined the watch party at Madison Square Garden just broke out into a “Knicks in four” chant.

It would take something special for this Knicks team to sweep a very talented Spurs squad, although they are in the middle of a 12-game winning streak in the postseason and seem to have developed some plot armor.
After all, they did come back from 22 points down to extend their winning streak in Game 1 against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals, and they now came back from 14 down against the Spurs in Game 1.
But with Victor Wembanyama having plenty of room to get better throughout the course of the series, the Spurs are not the kind of team that Knicks fans could count out. The Spurs are so much better than the Cavs and the Philadelphia 76ers, the two teams the Knicks swept, so they should not be held to the same standard whatsoever.
Be that as it may, Knicks fans have waited 53 years to see their team win another title. They came close in 1994. But this certainly feels like their most precious opportunity to break through, and they now need to win just three more games to secure their place in history.
