Josh Hart makes history in NBA Finals Game 1 win vs. Spurs

The New York Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, and there are multiple heroes you could point to in the victory.

Jalen Brunson scored 13 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter, icing the victory for the Knicks on the road. Karl-Anthony Towns had 18 points and 14 rebounds, including 10 points in the third quarter, helping New York tie the game after trailing by double-digits early in the third.

But no one did what Josh Hart did. Not just in Game 1, but in any postseason game ever.

Hart finished Game 1 against the Spurs with three points, 15 rebounds, six assists, and four steals in 27 minutes of play for the Knicks. He became the first player in NBA history to record at least 15 rebounds, six assists, and four steals in a playoff game in under 30 minutes of play.

The Knicks defeated the Spurs, 105-95, giving them their seven consecutive road victory by double-digits. It's the longest streak in NBA playoff history.

Additionally, the Knicks won their 12th consecutive game this postseason, tying the San Antonio Spurs of 1999 for the longest winning streak in a single postseason. New York would need to sweep the Spurs in these NBA Finals in order to tie the Golden State Warriors for the longest winning streak in a single postseason (15).

Game 2 of the Spurs and Knicks isn't until Friday night, so both teams will have a practice day Thursday before returning to the court in Game 2.
