This Beloved Fast Food Chain Is Doubling Its Footprint In NorCal (patch.com) β San Franciscans eager for more Jollibee will soon see the chain expand, with a downtown San Francisco restaurant listed as opening soon and 15 new Northern California locations planned over eight years. Franchise operator George Almeida is betting on the Bay Area's large Filipino community and the brand's cult-favorite fried chicken and spaghetti to fuel growth across the region.
2. SF Zoo To Unleash New Dinosaur Exhibition This Summer (patch.com) β Families in San Francisco can look forward to a summer of dinosaurs as the San Francisco Zoo debuts its limited-time "Dinos Rule!" exhibition from July 1 to Sept. 15. Visitors will encounter 21 life-like robotic dinosaur models, interactive photo ops, a climbable sculpture, and a fossil dig pit, with a small extra fee beyond regular zoo admission.
3. Two found dead on San Francisco streets Wednesday morning, one killed by car (missionlocal.org) β Two people were found dead on San Francisco streets early Wednesday, including a pedestrian struck and killed near Brannan and Seventh in SoMa, the city's 11th traffic fatality this year. Less than an hour later, another person was discovered dead near Geneva and Mission in the Excelsior, with the cause still under investigation as police seek tips from the public.
4. REPORT: Arrest Warrant Issued For 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk (dailysnark.com) β A warrant has been requested in Northern California for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk in connection with an alleged high-speed driving incident tied to a YouTube video. The Santa Clara County case remains open with no hearings set yet, while Aiyuk has previously apologized and the team has not publicly commented.
5. 'Are you kidding me?': Unpaid AT&T bill caused Clipper outage (sfchronicle.com) β BART and other Bay Area riders were blocked from adding Clipper funds for 27 hours last month because contractor Cubic Corp. failed to pay an AT&T bill, disrupting Monday's commute into San Francisco. Transit leaders blasted Cubic's handling of the Clipper 2.0 rollout and are now weighing contractual remedies as ongoing glitches continue to frustrate riders.
