At 28, Dani Olmo is in the prime of his career. His contributions helped the Blaugrana to yet another La Liga title. He also played a key role in Spain’s World Cup Qualifiers this spring. Numbers like that make him very difficult to overlook.
Dani Olmo offers the flexibility the Gunners need
His versatility is a big part of the appeal. He can play as an attacking midfielder, a wide forward, or in central midfield. That kind of flexibility is something Arteta values highly when building his squad. It also means the Gunners would not need to change their system to fit him in.

That said, his role at Barcelona has mostly been a rotational one under Hansi Flick. That can wear on any player over time. If he starts to feel underused, his thinking could change. The Spaniard is too good to be playing rotational football for long. For the Gunners, keeping that door open and moving early this summer will be key.
