Bayer Leverkusen could yet receive another Liverpool player this summer after buying Jarell Quansah last summer with a buy-back included.
The centre-back left Anfield in search of regular first-team football, with Bayer Leverkusen securing his signature in a deal believed to be £35 million.
The deal included an initial guaranteed fee of £30 million, with a further £5 million in performance-related add-ons. Since then, Quansah’s stock has risen significantly in Germany, with the England international admitting he made the move for consistent minutes.
Next summer, the buy-back clause for Liverpool will be 60 million euros.
Now it looks the German side could end up receiving another Liverpool player this summer.
Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg has reported that the Anfield club are continuing to push for Hertha Berlin’s Kennet Eichhorn and could loan him to Bayer Leverkusen to get around the U18 signing rule.
Sky Germany previously reported that Liverpool is very keen on the 16-year-old midfielder.
Plettenberg adds that Borussia Dortmund are likewise still in the race despite reports that they had withdrawn.
“Liverpool are continuing to push hard behind the scenes for Kennet Eichhorn. New talks have taken place over the last 48 hours. From the 16 y/o gem’s side, all options remain open at this stage. Leverkusen as a loan destination is also an option being considered by Liverpool.”
