Draymond Green reacts to Steph Curry's reported $400 million deal

Draymond Green praised Stephen Curry's reported 10-year, $400 million deal with Li-Ning, calling it "groundbreaking" and highlighting its long-term impact beyond basketball. Green said the agreement reflects Curry's global influence and the strength of his brand, especially as the Warriors star continues to perform at an elite level on the court.

Stephen Curry reported new partnership with Li-Ning is already generating buzz across the basketball world, and one of the first people to weigh in was his longtime Golden State Warriors teammate Draymond Green.

According to reports, Curry is set to sign a 10-year, $400 million deal with the global sportswear company, marking one of the biggest shoe agreements in basketball history.

Speaking on The Draymond Green Show, the Warriors forward explained why he believes the move makes sense for Curry both during and after his playing career.

"Well, number one, Li-Ning is one of the fastest growing shoe brands in the world," Green said. "Number two, the opportunity for him to grow Curry brand globally, the market in China, life after basketball for him. This deal checks all of those boxes and I'm happy as hell for him. I think this is groundbreaking."

Green also pointed to the reported value and length of the deal as proof of Curry's global influence.

"To sign a $400 million plus sneaker deal, allegedly, at 38 years old is unheard of," Green said. "Which just lets you know the weight that the name Steph Curry carries, which lets you know that the presence that Steph Curry has, who he is, what he is, what he stands for, that they're willing to sign this a 10-year deal."

The reported agreement comes after Curry and Under Armour ended their long-running partnership in November 2025. The relationship began in 2013, before Curry developed into one of the most accomplished players in NBA history.

Even at this stage of his career, Curry remains one of the league's top players. During the 2025-26 season, he averaged 26.6 points per game while shooting 39.3% from three-point range and 92.3% from the free-throw line across 43 appearances.

The reported deal would also connect Curry with other notable Li-Ning athletes. Warriors teammate Jimmy Butler is already part of the brand's roster, while Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade has been one of its most prominent ambassadors for years.
