Andoni Iraola leaves Liverpool John Lennon Airport after arriving on a private jet this morning
Andoni Iraola arrived on Liverpool soil this morning (Thursday, June 4). The Spaniard is set to be appointed as Liverpool FC's new head coach following Arne Slot's exit last weekend.
On Saturday, had been sacked after two years in the role. Discussions immediately began on who could be the right person to take over.
Iraola quickly became a clear frontrunner. He has a growing reputation in the Premier League after leading Bournemouth to European qualification for the first time in their history last month.
The ECHO understands Iraola has reached a verbal agreement with the Reds and is expected to sign a two-year contract.
The 43-year-old landed at on Thursday morning. An ECHO photographer captured the plane from San Sebastian as it touched down.
Iraola disembarked the private jet on the far side of the plane before making his way to a silver Mercedes car.
