Patriots' Kayson Boutte gets trade update involving Raiders, Commanders

The Kayshon Boutte trade rumors are heating up.

They're logical, but they also create yet another storyline around the New England Patriots this offseason.

The Pats upgraded their WR depth chart a bunch in recent months. After cutting Stefon Diggs, they signed Romeo Doubs in free agency from the Packers.

And then to start June, they traded for A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles.

That leaves Boutte, in a contract year, at best as the WR3 and potentially lower if the promising Kyle Williams can steal some snaps.

Everyone has begun to speculate on a Boutte trade, including ESPN's Dan Graziano.

"The Patriots have received calls on Boutte and likely will continue to do so," Graziano writes. "And as always, unless and until we see a contract extension, we're justified in wondering whether the player is in the team's long-term plans."

He goes on to mention the Las Vegas Raiders and Washington Commanders as logical destinations.

"The Raiders and Commanders stand out as two teams that could still use help at wide receiver," Graziano writes.

Boutte is a fascinating player, one who Drake Maye relied upon in a big way in 2025. Every single one of his regular season catches went for either a first down or a touchdown.

But if the Pats don't plan to sign Boutte to an extension, it would make sense to trade him sooner rather than later. The rumors won't slow down here anytime soon.
