Mayor Brandon Johnson wants to see the Chicago Bears stay in downtown Chicago, Illinois. There are many things he discussed on 104.3 the Score in Chicago when he went into the studio on Wednesday to talk about what would happen if the Bears stayed in Chicago instead of going to Arlington Heights, Illinois or Hammond, Indiana.

Well, he did discuss some of that stuff, but there was something else interesting he mentioned during his interview. He knows that there are certain things that are bad at Solider Field, however. Johnson mentioned he attended a Bears vs Green Bay Packers game last season. He said,
“Let me tell you how bad it is — Bears vs. Packers, I’m at the game, we’re losing. I decide to leave to beat the traffic. Before I get out of the footprint, the Bears had come back to win.”
There are a lot of Chicago fans who are not a fan of Johnson as the Mayor of this city. It is understandable that traffic in the city of Chicago, Illinois could no doubt be bad, but leaving a Packers vs Bears game feels kind of cruel.

There are many fans who didn’t like his comments about leaving a Packers vs Bears game early. This is what fans had to say about it on Twitter:
Leaving a Bears/Packers game early is grounds for impeachment. https://t.co/5y2pdz1i8e

…all this tells me is Brandon Johnson isn’t a real Bears fan. Nobody leaves Bears v Packers until after the clock hits 0:00 and there have been at least 5 “Green Bay Sucks” chants. https://t.co/rpP4e7XiW9

I’ve seen a lot of politicians screw up sports things, but this is the first time I’ve seen a sports screw up revealed by telling the truth.
“I decide to leave to beat the traffic.”
Bears tickets are crazy, crazy expensive. This is the kinda thing that pisses fans off. https://t.co/bu9KKm9UWL

Bro left a Bears/Packers game before it ended? And admitted it as Mayor of Chicago? Dude. https://t.co/7avp486Rkr

Well, there are a lot of Bears fans who were dumbfounded by his comments. Chicago and Green Bay are one of the biggest rivalries in the NFL. This was certainly one of the more interesting things that Johnson has said during his tenure as the Mayor of Chicago.
