It feels like Kayvon Thibodeaux's New York Giants career has been one never-ending trade rumor.
Soon enough, if he's not dealt, he'll hit free agency. But that could also set him up to finally be traded for real.
ESPN's Dan Graziano noted in a new article on Thursday that Thibodeaux has a great chance to be moved by this season's trade deadline, at the latest.
"Thibodeaux is making $14.751 million this year in the fifth-year option season of his rookie contract," Graziano writes. "Teams aren't too keen on the idea of that kind of money for a player whose playing time and production have tailed off since his big 2023 season (11.5 sacks). But if Thibodeaux starts strong and the Giants either aren't contending or believe they should trade from a strength to fortify a weakness, other teams could take a look at the 25-year-old once there isn't so much money left on his deal."

Graziano also acknowledges that it "feels like he has been on these types of lists forever."
Then, he points out that while both the New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys both need an edge rusher, only one makes sense for a Giants trade.
"I know New England is brought up every time we talk about teams that could be looking for edge rush help, but it does still feel like that's what it needs," Graziano writes. "And you know the Giants aren't trading him to the Cowboys!"
The last thing the Giants need is to trade Thibodeaux within the NFC East Division and then have him cause problems for Jaxson Dart.
An acquiring team could assess Thibodeaux's game before deciding if he's worthy of a contract extension.
The Giants probably wouldn't get a ton in return, but if they're ready to move on, it may finally be time to get a Thibodeaux deal done.
