A look at the latest Sunderland-related transfer news and speculation...
Sunderland and Nottingham Forest are both reportedly considering swoops for Neom midfielder Amadou Kone.
The 21-year-old started his senior career with Malian side AFE before signing for Stade Reims in 2023 and completing a transfer to the Saudi Pro League last year. Since then, the box-to-box talent has caught the eye with a series of energetic performances in the Middle East.
To that end, journalist Pete O’Rourke has claimed that both the Black Cats and their Premier League rivals are now monitoring Kone ahead of potential summer moves. In Italy, AS Roma are also said to be keen on the player.
Sunderland make Arthur Avom enquiry
Elsewhere, Sunderland are understood to have made enquiries about FC Lorient talent Arthur Avom. As per continental reporter Gianluigi Longari, both the Black Cats and Bournemouth have asked about the midfielder with view to launching prospective summer pursuits.
The 21-year-old is a Cameroonian international with 14 senior caps to his name, and will be familiar to Sunderland head coach Regis Le Bris, having joined Lorient during the French boss’ tenure at the club.
Avom has been linked with the Black Cats more than once in recent months, and has himself spoken about his personal ambitions to play at the very highest level of the professional game, telling L’Equipe in an interview earlier this year that his goal is to “win the Champions League, the World Cup, and the Africa Cup of Nations”.

Roony Bardghji touted for Barcelona exit
And finally, Barcelona are said to be willing to sanction an exit for highly rated forward Roony Bardghji this summer, with several Premier League clubs - including Sunderland - mentioned as potential suitors.
The 20-year-old Sweden international signed for the La Liga giants from Danish outfit FC Copenhagen last year, but has struggled to make a consistent impact in Catalonia. Despite featuring 28 times in 2025/26, he registered a total of just 872 minutes, scoring two goals and assisting four more.
It is within this context that TEAMtalk claim he could be on the move over the coming weeks - whether that be on loan or a permanent basis - and the likes of Sunderland, Leeds United, Aston Villa, Brighton, Brentford and Everton are all touted as possible destinations.
