NBC averaged 7.2 million viewers for its return to the NBA Playoffs this season, up 72% vs. the comparable coverage last season. Going into the NBA Finals, nine of the top 10 (and 17 of the top 25) most-watched playoff games this season were on NBC. That’s led by Spurs-Thunder Game 7 in the Western Conference Finals on Saturday night, which drew 15.9 million viewers for the best NBA conference finals audience (East or West) since Warriors-Thunder in 2016. The complete Spurs-Thunder WCF averaged 10.8 million viewers, which is the best for any NBA conference finals matchup since 2002.
