Andoni Iraola has been spotted leaving the AXA Training Centre in the clearest indication yet he is soon to be announced as the new Liverpool manager.
The Spaniard flew in from San Sebastian on Thursday morning on a private jet. Keen-eyed Liverpool fans tracked his flight on FlightRadar, where he arrived at Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport.
Fabrizio Romano has already reported that the Spaniard has signed his two-year contract at Anfield. Thursday’s images and Sky Sports’ footage of Iraola at the AXA Training Centre, alongside Hughes, strongly suggest those final steps are now complete.

There is also an expectation that he will look to bring some of his trusted Bournemouth staff, including Tommy Elphick and Shaun Cooper, to form the core of his Anfield backroom team.
With a formal announcement expected very soon, the sight of Iraola at the AXA Training Centre feels like the clearest indication yet that Liverpool’s managerial search is effectively over and that preparations for 2026‑27 are now being mapped out behind closed doors.
Iraola was seen leaving with Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes. Hughes is understood to have driven the process, having already worked closely with Iraola during their time together at Bournemouth and pushing for him again once the Liverpool job became available.
Fitness coach Pablo de la Torre is also set to make the move.
There has also been speculation that Liverpool could add a familiar face to Iraola’s staff, with former midfielder Thiago Alcântara repeatedly mentioned as a potential addition in a bridge role between the new regime and the club’s recent past.
However, Paul Joyce has already ruled out that link – at least for now.
